The Celebration of Life service for Shawn MacElroy of Quitman, is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home. Pastor David Hartley will be officiating. The Family will receive friends and guests beginning at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Quitman City Cemetery.
Shawn MacElroy, 61, beloved sister, entered into the arms of her Savior on December 6, 2019. She was born on March 1, 1958 in Philadelphia, PA to parents Robert MacElroy and Nancy Boyer. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Robin and Stephen Bowser, her niece Stephanie Lara and husband Arturo and great nephews Cohen and Maxim Lara. Also, her brother and sister-in-law Peter and Donna MacElroy, her niece Jacqueline MacElroy, her nephew Andrew MacElroy and wife Sarah and great nephews Sterling, Hunter, and Gavin MacElroy, and nephew Nathaniel MacElroy.
Shawn grew up in Camp Hill, PA where she graduated from Cedar Cliff high school. She continued her education through her junior year at Penn State University. After attending Penn State Unitversity, Shawn attended Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Texas and Fountain Gate Bible College in Plano, Texas.
Shawn brought much joy to her family and friends over the years both in Pennsylvania and in Texas. She loved caring for children and worked in daycare for many years. She also worked in retail sales and was employed by Walmart for approximately 7 years. She was an avid reader, and loved animals, especially her border collie Tracy. She enjoyed nature, gardening, and her church family at Living Waters Fellowship. Shawn had a deep commitment to her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was not ashamed to share His love with others. Her beautiful smile, joyful laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
